MELBOURNE, Australia - 23 March. 2006 - Haliplex Pty Ltd, world leading developer of Micro Multi-Service Provisioning Platform solutions (Micro-MSPP), today announced compliance with RoHS and WEEE; directives of the European Union (EU) for the environmentally conscious manufacture of and life cycle management of electronic equipment.

Any electronic equipment sold in the European market after 13 July, 2006 must comply with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directives.

Haliplex CEO, David Drew, said that compliance with RoHS and WEEE marks the beginning of the company's penetration of the European Market.

"Haliplex has been working towards achieving these standards for the best part of two years as an established objective of our Environmental Management System; reaching these targets gives Haliplex the green light to sell to the lucrative European market where there is a huge demand for our product." Drew said.

RoHS restricts the use of harmful substances in products manufactured for EU countries, and WEEE defines recycling and disposal requirements for electrical and electronic equipment, setting collection, recycling and recovery targets across the European Union.

"Although this is a great step forward for Haliplex, compliance is just one element of our holistic approach to ecological sustainability and lifecycle management as defined under the Haliplex Environmental Management System (EMS)." Drew said.

 "The EMS provides Haliplex with a framework that we use to manage the organization's environmental performance and to set objectives for the continual improvement of our environmental impact.

With Haliplex products now transferred to a RoHS and WEEE compliant supply chain, all hardware will now bear the RoHS compliant tick and the WEEE wheelie bin sticker.
